Location : Earth;
Forward Space Research laboratory. “As you begin to travel further inside and towards the planet’s core, you shall experience a gradual rise in temperatures around you.” The professor seemed jubilant as he made another remark to the duo travelers now constantly flanking his sides. “But professor, I am experiencing extreme cold!” the burly man exclaimed. His voice went unheard for an underwater verbal converter immediately transcribed his vocal sounds into binary code, which were immediately reconverted into English script. Binary code was the medium and sole method of computer language via which commands, computers “understood” and accepted basic functioning applications and programmes. A slim, wide blue colored strip containing white fonts indicating words and sentences appeared immediately within visual distance-- approximately six inches in front of their eyes and slightly below.
They wore individual
hyper-deep-water-submersible suits, which neatly clung to their respective
physiques like a second skin; and had donned one transparent, circular
plastic-glass globe each around their respective heads. This plastic-glass
headgear contained complex mechanisms capable of converting latent oxygen
embedded into the atomic structure of water. “We have traveled nearly one mile under and inside the hyper-deep-water routes of the earth.” The professor began, interrupting temporary lulls of silence. Instantly, the slim blue-colored transparent band appeared in front of their eyes at mid nose-length level; and the white-colored see-through letters formed the professor’s intended sentence. That slim band remained thus for a few seconds before computerized functions allowed it to slide away from sight range, in a semicircular direction to a pre selected space just under their left ears. The slim, transparent blue band--containing see through white letters disappeared within one second. “Remember, you’ve got to swim slowly now. Be sure to come at a complete halt in the waters at the next curve.” The professor’s companions had assumed postures of alertness, flanking him at his left and right at a comfortable maneuverable distance. They brought their individual right fingers into contact with ‘directional codes’ located at their respective hip levels, a device which also controlled ‘personal forward speed-thrust’ by booster mechanisms embedded into their individual deep water navigational boots. The were making their way in the waterways of the earth; very deep under the surface of the earth, traversing relatively unknown passages of unmapped ‘earth routes’. The burly man made a mental calculation of an approaching distance to the next curve. Approximately 650 feet, he confirmed from experience, while gently pressurizing his fore and index fingers into a slot on the directional code. A further downward pressure and booster mechanisms halted forward thrust operations. He felt his underwater boots negate the minimal mechanical vibrations as the powerful macro machines silently whirred to a stop.
His companion duly
complied, allowing the force of previously forward thrust pressure to
cover that distance between themselves and that curve. They now stood very
deep within the soils of the Earth. * “As soon as we are under water, you shall follow my actions from a depth of fifteen feet.” the professor had earlier advised his companions for the day. He stood at the edge of a gigantic pool, a large natural lake neatly reconstructed, modified and trimmed to resemble a mammoth swimming pool. The burly man looked around gently once again, before adjusting a transparent, circular plastic-glass globe around his head. The super high walls of Earth-- forward research space lab five seemed to tower very high above him. Every decorative color here appeared either white or a conceivable derivative of white, including the wall paints. Earth--forward research space laboratories were also commonly referred to as “earth stations.” These labs were primarily designed to delve into higher details and to investigate into unknown scientific ventures; thus conveniently located at difficult and unapproachable routes throughout the existing land patterns of the Earth. Only authorized personnel were allowed inside. Under ground and internal land routes leading to all such Earth--forward research space labs, crisscrossed the earth at hundreds of locations. Inter-planetary space personnel stationed at various labs were offered adequate living space in individual and collective flats. …..This particular portion of earth- forward space lab five neatly encircled that mystery lake, though in a square formation. The burly man’s companion adjusted his individual halo suit, a formal nomenclature for those transparent and circular spheres; the head gear. He prepared himself for a plunge which would take him miles down under the earth’s surface…..Via the ancient water routes of the old, lost earth. “We shall gauge our reflexes at about one and a quarter mile down,” the professor had ended, adjusting directional codes at a depth of twenty-five feet under water. Thus, they continued a process of controlled sinking, offering wise comments to each other at planned intervals. Such hyper-deep underwater verbal exercises reduced their chances of feeling totally forlorn and also assisted in avoiding hyper depression. “Allow me to be more precise.” The professor was intimately involved in an exercise they now participated. “If you follow land routes, wherein underground water routes do not exist, you shall experience a gradual change in temperatures. You may tend to feel warmer than usual and even human body temperature--correlated with air and Earth temperatures inside downward land and tunnel routes—increases slightly as you proceed closer to the Earth’s core.” “Such an occurrence happens only when we resort to land routes,” the burly man added, more for the sake of agreeing with his senior companion’s knowledge rather than for the sole purpose of making small talk. He was thoroughly accustomed to these deep under water voyages. “Yes.” The professor agreed. * They had come to a halt at the edge of a gradually sloping, roughly circular water tunnel. It exceeded a hundred feet width in diameter. Hyper-deep clear, pleasant and transparent Earth waters seemed to offer a gentle chill, which was an eerie experience. The entire tunnel commencing from the top, at ground surface level, measured more than a hundred feet diametrically. Yet the tunnel was not circular throughout its length. Only at certain places along its entire route into bowels of the earth, the tunnel closely resembled circular patterns. During most of the watery descent, one would be unable to determine any fixed pattern of tunnel structure. “From our commencement area in the space lab till approximately this level which we now occupy ….. The tunnel forms a gentle slope downward into the earth. “However, now...” The professor’s verbal conversation in white colored words and sentences were shaping up neatly, converted amidst a slim background. “The tunnel takes a downward plunge. It is almost straight. Nearly perpendicular.” They peered amidst those totally clear waters fed by millions of underground streams; through permeable and soft earth routes almost forming stream routes deep inside the earth. Commencing from several dozens of feet below the earth’s surface, soft earth water routes constantly filtered in pure water, complying with the most natural process of nature. “Therefore, as one descends lower inside Earth’s bowels, into hyper-deep waters, one tends to feel colder. At a depth of approximately two furlongs down, you perhaps did note a strange chill amidst those waters! “Reaching further down to about one mile, I wouldn’t care to comment upon your physical processes. I however did feel a strong urge to call it a day and relax under warm sunshine on the forward research space lab roofs.”
The burly man added
finally. “Now, at a mile and one quarter underneath the surface level of
earth, I feel as if I’ve just missed pneumonia!
*
* *
* * Upon Jupiter….. More than two miles under the planet’s surface, they trudged underwater soils in an ancient hyper-deep water route….. Two weeks further into their experimental hyper-deep waterway journey, they stood upon a similar formation, trying to maintain an outward calm, yet decidedly appearing unsettled and tense; all except the professor, who was flanked by five companions on this occasion. “Fish do not swim in Jupiter’s waters.” One of the men exclaimed. They were standing in close formation at a similar tunnel edge, wearing identical under water gear favoring hyper-deep under water travel. “And I do not feel chilly!” The burly man added. “As a matter of fact, I don’t even feel closer enough to pneumonia.” The burly man’s companion added in utter seriousness, “Well gentlemen, do we take that chance?” The professor stood at the very edge of a similar curve of an underground water tunnel, deep inside Jupiter’s soils. He was feeling comfortable. The water temperature seemed pleasant at about two and a half miles under Jupiter’s surface level. Its pleasant radiating warmth provided proof of vast deviations in hyper-deep water temperature between Earth and Jupiter. One amongst the inter planetary companions presently allotted inter-stellar space-time in the professor’s company, spoke up at length, and his speech followed due conversion procedures. “Back upon Earth, the tunnel takes a sharp drop from this point approximately. The hyper-deep underwater route remains at a downward trajectory and forms a rather semicircular path as it nears Earth’s core. Neatly thereafter, correctly describing a semicircle all along the Earth’s core, the path abruptly takes a tangent, nearly assuming a ninety-degree path. It thus continues downward, opening out at a place on the approximate opposite surface of the earth.” “Or upwards, you might say.” The fourth companion ventured confidently. They were briefed in total. Advanced space research labs upon Earth and Jupiter preferred senior inter-planetary space lab personnel to be updated on every bit of information they could gather. “Upward?” “Yes.” “How in heaven?” “That’s true upon Jupiter. Our journey begins from Jupiter’s biggest lake; its opposite end is where our lake-tunnel ends. Hereabouts, one also finds the oceans.” “Do you mean to state that the lake opens out to the ocean at its other end?” “Well, not exactly.” “But professor, he just commented in the positive!” Another hyper-deep underwater companion countered immediately. “You shall certainly find the ocean instead of land structures, but my dear man, our lake-tunnel in question opens up to yet another similar lake; a water resort officially protected by Jupiter—Forward space research lab one. It is situated inside a mountain.” “Uh, pardon me?” “At certain defined parameters of the ocean bed, we find foothills of a mountain. This particular undersea mountain commences from the ocean bed and is taller than the highest visible mountain on Jupiter’s surface. Here, I refer to a land mountain commencing from sea level height.” “I am beginning to understand now, professor.” “The uppermost peak of this mountain stands at approximately fifteen thousand feet above sea level. The remaining portion rests below the sea level,.… Is not visible and lies buried under ocean waters.” * Approximately half an hour later, the five member advanced inter-planetary expedition team made a final decision to take that hyper-deep underwater jump; from their vantage point deep inside Jupiter’s soils and unchartered waterways. The routes seemed very similar. The waters were different, however. Five hours later, the professor’s voice appeared neatly transcribed into white and blue background of words and sentences. “We have reached Jupiter’s core at the upper level.” “And I simply feel warm enough,” the burly man spoke truthfully. It seemed to them that he was perhaps waiting for the professor to make that remark. This formed a part of their underwater speech exercise for they must avoid hyper-deep underwater depression at all times! After an indeterminable time gap, the professor continued nonchalantly, “We are now beginning to circle Jupiter’s core, the planet’s innermost circle. We are several hundreds of miles away from the core. However, our journey shall simply describe a semi-circle as we maneuver ourselves in a downward, underwater path. And, my dear man, we shall discuss the warmth of the waters here at a later and opportune time…. after we surface!” Three hours later, the professor made deviations from irregular quotes. They were speaking constantly with one another in an attempt to avoid depressing moods. Tepid Jupiter waters encircling them seemed to be warm and transparently clear. They had arrived at conclusions much earlier that perhaps the hyper-deep waters of Jupiter were always like that. One felt charged up. As if Jupiter water ions were constantly in the process of inducing strange electrical charges into the human body. Additionally, they were in the advantageous position distinguishing each form of underwater vegetation during their descent to Jupiter’s core. “We are in the process of crossing the upper core circle!” They attempted at trying to figure out how computers deciphered and transcribed human laughter. The professor’s next sentence however, eased in a sense of well being within them. Their laughter was not forced this time. “After crossing Jupiter’s core, we shall no longer descend. We shall accept the natural process of ascending. It is an upward and initial hyper-deep underwater journey towards Jupiter’s surface.” The other members awaited further instructions. “Gentlemen, please adjust your directional codes to register a sixty percent upward thrust. You must reverse thrust procedures now. Simply change the direction of your movement in water.
