Prologue. 1234 C.E.
Sire! It seems to be the devil’s handiwork! I implore thee to do something quick.” “What would be hinting at, eh?” “The witch doctor, quick sire. He may drive the devil out from our lands.” “The witch doctor is dead too. They found his body two moons ago while you were away hunting.” “But my lord sire! How is it that everybody who crosses our lands at the borders…..” “I know, they perish. For now, we are prisoners in our own lands.” “Nay sire! Thousands have perished by the scores. Some died whilst going on pilgrimage to other, far off lands. Others fell to the devil when going to the neighboring King’s empire to visit their distant family brethrens. Yet others fell dead during trading journeys. “Now tell me…..This all this occur when my people crossed over from the borders of my lands? “The very moment, O my king.” * Fear and panic gripped the entire kingdom and its population as word spread faster than rumors; and one occasion such as this totally negated exaggeration. The populace in towns, villages and semi cities on the road to evolution were formally briefed:- “Let no one walk out from the set limits of our empire. Don’t allow people to cross the borders of our kingdom.

Chapter 1.
4616 C.E. The present day and age.
“Professor, I think something is grossly incorrect.” “My dear?” The answer denoted implied curiosity. The professor’s personal chambers were located within Earth- forward space research laboratory priority one. He was relaxing after a long, busy fortnight spent upon moon’s satellite space station. Moon one, as it was termed had become earth’s primary guard satellite over the centuries. All inter stellar activities of the dangerous kind and perilous ones too, were directed via moon one. An efficient and very senior member from the upper hierarchy of Earth Command had earlier requested the professor’s valuable time at his personal lab. A junior colleague from the innermost hierarchy of World Council assisted him in this extraordinary maneuver. Together, they excused themselves inside and conveyed personal greetings of the World Governor. After more than an hour of pleasant exchanges and a brisk walk across the more inaccessible places of Earth-forward space research lab, they settled down to more urgent business at hand. It was then that the professor’s implied curiosity drove them to alertness as they quickly exchanged glances. Obviously the professor appeared abreast with the latest developments affecting inter-planetary star fields governance. At least that seemed evident from his conversation. They soon realized a total hopelessness of the prevailing situation and the predicament they were placed in. Utter foolishness! How could the professor, of all people in their solar system, be unaware of the latest inter-planetary happenings? Surely, inter-stellar star fields intelligence personnel must have relayed every sundry detail to him….perhaps more electronic data than they carried in person at present. “Ah…..Yes. You were perhaps referring to the collapsing zero-gravity syndromes upon Pluto cities immediately prior to Pluto's second moon rise?” Again an implication. “Sir!” A bewildered exclamation. “Or do you plan to brief me in detail how our magnetic-laser-fields are self deactivating one after the other—planet after planet.” “Professor sir! Only the mechanical cum magnetic laser beam walls remain as our second-primary mode of defence in case of attack.” The very senior member of earth command was an ex inter-planetary star-fields military man..... They selected him for the present appointment by virtue of his tough and practical attitude. Rumours suggested he was an above intelligent person too. The junior colleague from world council took the cue. “You are correct professor. One, all our zero-gravity procedures have really and totally collapsed. This procedure becomes markedly detectable few days before Pluto’s second moon rise. Two, almost simultaneously we can determine the following via our inter-planetary star fields computerized telescope-radars:- That all our magnetic laser fields become reverted to disengage status. By what external or internal force at work here…..we don’t know. Therefore, each of our ten planets including earth, the moon and the other planets’ moons and satellites are open to attack. They are are left with neglible potential favoring inter-planetary back up or star-fields defense status. Here you will surely agree, we need more than a dozen electronic maneuvers upon earth space stations to bring about this deactivating status—to negate the effects of all our earth based m-laser fields. Only thereafter, similar procedures are maintained to deactivate the remaining planets, the moons and satellites!” He waited for a while anticipating Jupiter watermelon fruit juice mixed with earth lemons to arrive. This menu was fixed prior to their arrival and the professor had expressed his desire to share that valued concoction with them. “Yet, how has such an event occurred? It’s as if someone or something else is controlling our forward and advanced inter-planetary defense shields. Unbelievable! We are left with no primary and secondary forms of defense on the electronic front! Professor, how!?” His voice sounded subdued yet desperate. They had voted him into world council by voice vote; primarily because he controlled the inner movements of inter-planetary star-fields counter intelligence personnel—in all the ten planets and habited moons and satellites. Like all of them elected earlier, he pledged total and univocal support to the worlds’ governance; and undying loyalty to their world governor. Ever since, inter-planetary security became his official and primary concern. He reported directly to the chief of world council and his tactical superior within earth command-- his senior colleague. * After a rather slow, lazy and late earth lunch they accompanied the professor in one of his personal zero-gravity cars. It was a neat vehicle devoid of tyres --of chrome steel-platinum alloy making up for its outer covering. The top portion of the car above chest height formed a see through plastic-glass oval dome. It’s zero gravity engines ensured the car rested a minimum of few inches above ground level whenever its engines were activated. At other times when the car was parked and its engines deactivated, the vehicle rested upon the ground assisted by several retractable parking-pads attached to its lower surface. Parking the vehicle upon rocky surfaces meant the zero gravity engines would have to be kept on running mode few inches above ground level; or a few feet above, if necessary. However, proton fuel driving the zero-gravity earth car ensured an unlimited time of activated parking or driving. As it sped across the countryside they noted its internal mechanisms included a self guiding computerized-radar assisted autopilot prefixed with their travel plans. The professor had activated the auto-pilot prior to commencement of a long though quick journey. “You shall virtually see the ‘granaries of the earth” as we pass by those fields in quick succession”. The professor addressed the duo seated politely behind him in the four seated zero-gravity car; suspended about one foot above ground level; and gliding at 200 miles an hour. Quick and automatic activation of its air brakes at regular intervals controlled its ground flight speed. Virtual traveling speed at such high mileage did nothing to disturb their composed attitude. They had become used to traveling at super high speeds. Secondly, internal mechanisms inside the zero-gravity car were designed to take adequate care of the physiological functions of humans occupying it; for constant speeds above 200 miles an hour. “Yes professor. We know. Half an earth month is required in these granaries-of-earth from sowing to reaping process of our grains! We have progressed quite a lot since our cattle and machines ages. Our grains ready themselves at every sixteen days intervals…..feeding the entire solar system and its humans. Yet we store enough grains in our planets to feed an additional twenty-five worlds, if need be.” “Your homework is up to satisfaction levels, my dears.” “Yes sir, except the latest inter-planetary developments.” “I know…..That is the primary reason why I invited you to a post lunch drive. Shall I continue?” The professor seemed very relaxed traveling at 200 miles an hour. “You see, what you are perturbed about now is nothing new to me. If I were to be elaborative, this phenomenon occurred in the past second-decade once or maybe twice, though not in succession, and for marginally smaller durations of time. I was younger then and assigned to inter-planetary research duties upon Mars space stations. I remember you both were recently inculcated into worlds' governance at the time and not really aware of certain inter-planetary developments. Perhaps none other than me ever noted the slight shifts in parameters -- of our inter-planetary and deep space star-fields laser umbrella defense systems. These have gone unrecorded till date and no one ever bothered to verify any further. Why would any one want to mention a fraction of a second that went unregistered though signified a drop in our inter-planetary magnetic and electronic defense umbrella laser shields? Such factors were overlooked even by the minutest of scrutinies. Computer patterns displayed evident changes in inter-planetary parameters, yet no human ever pointed these out in the past two decades. I therefore, decided to keep quiet about this entire episode and have been researching into it since then.” The professor stated purposefully. “I was practically studying our actual inter-planetary trajectile course as compared to the remaining part of the universe, particularly emphasizing upon the “Milky Way’. Did you know that our entire solar system is moving forward? That the revolution of the planets around the sun is a smaller matter in comparison? That the sun remains fixed inside our solar system around which the planets revolve? Further studies of the stars prove beyond doubt that the sun is moving too, though with the entire solar system. It is difficult to understand where our solar system is heading in the vastness of the limitless universe. Well…..Mars space stations offer an exciting and scientifically plausible view of the skies. Its less dense atmosphere is notably superior for studies of the skies!” “Yes professor, we are aware most of our inter-stellar observatories have been relocated to Mars space stations; for perusal of studies which relate mainly outside the solar system.” The professor started again. “Now, about our defense magnetic umbrella laser shields:- Ever since I took over as professor in charge of our ‘combined space research labs’ this has been my pet project. Every day—at least once is mandatory—I receive detailed reports from all ten planets on two interplanetary matters. One is the matter related to maintenance of zero gravity syndromes. Two, I keep constant track of our inter-planetary ‘activated magnetic umbrella laser fields’! You see…..These are our primary defense weapons in case of attacks and outer space invasions of the other kind.” The senior gentleman queried. “Attack from extraterrestrials?” The zero-gravity car’s highly cooled and air-conditioned interior atmosphere failed to stop a fine sheen of sweat suddenly appearing all over his face. “Not necessarily. There are other modes of attack too.” “If not extraterrestrials, then who? Or what?” The junior gentleman demanded politely. “You are right! What…..not who. But before I commence to explain, are you clear in your conception of our primary methods of defense? The magnetic laser fields?” “No professor sir. Definitely not to your standards of comprehension. Would you therefore explain in simpler terms? Please.” There was a slight smile on an otherwise impassive face. It was the senior gentleman. The professor leant forward slightly to examine the constant car speed, mentioned clearly upon forward computerized consoles. “This entire concept was developed in the late 29th. century and we have been constantly improvising upon it, updating this procedure. Today, in the 4616 c.e. ages, our understanding and comprehension of the concept is more or less complete. And our application is total. Therefore you might ask me, what are these inter-planetary defense magnetic umbrella laser fields and secondly, who has primarily developed, named and invented it? The answer is not complex. For the second question we have a stereotype answer—we don’t know! Rest assured, further developments of weapons for inter-planetary defense commenced from Earth—Forward space research labs on priority basis only. Now for the answer to the first query; …..At regular intersectional points all along our chartered and unchartered star-walks flight paths, we have placed what are called anti-beacons. This name is suggestive of ‘marker beacons’ which extraterrestrials use; for hyper space, deep space and unknown space flights. Here, inter-galactic or inter-universal deep space flights may be classified as a more descriptive, appropriate term. However, anti-beacons have nothing to do with extraterrestrials’ marker beacons. Anti beacons are systematically placed upon all planets at conceivably known angles. Now for the practical explanation which you seek from me. We use application procedures to ‘magnifying lasers’ which are bent and shaped—by specially advanced instruments—to form a sort of an electronic and invisible laser umbrella; sometimes stretching for thousands of miles in diameter. Our advanced machines located inside research laboratories can effectively control the minimum and maximum span of such diametric distances. Do you understand me?” “Yes professor, we are following your lessons!” The professor leant back upon his soft padded chair as their zero-gravity car self maneuvered a neat curve at the end of one hour’s journey. Its mechanisms were auto-adjusted to predetermined driving instructions. Therefore at the end of the two hundredth mile, the car auto-accepted a return journey path on a different circuitous route. An ideal overhead sun made no effect upon the trio, now comfortably seated inside under a semi circular plastic-glass transparent dome. Their travel route included places where the overhead sky and weather suggested rain. The sun however, managed to peep out occasionally amidst silver white and gray clouds. "We have covered 200 miles and one earth hour, gentlemen. Please prepare yourselves for the return journey. I’m sure we shall arrive by teatime! “Ah, yes. The other factor! Anti-beacons also provide emphasis to a variant form of an invisible, electronic laser umbrella. These anti-beacons are also systematically placed inside hovering inter-planetary satellites—located between all the planets within our ten planetary solar system. Therefore immediately these laser-umbrellas are activated, we get the famous “electronic umbrella effect.” In outer and deep space one such set of magnified laser umbrellas can be easily stretched to millions of miles in diameter. So in effect, we have our entire solar system ‘covered’ with electronically operated magnetic-laser-fields. This becomes a total force field, which can counter any outer space invasion. But remember! We have determined that highly advanced extraterrestrials can simply walk into and through such force fields with complete ease and without detection. We shall not even be aware of their arrival; their crossing over through the laser fields; and their departure. Truly, their technologies are highly advanced.” “Professor, in such a case, from whom do we defend ourselves?” “A good question. One, from dangerous and fatal space bacterium and virus which regularly fall and cross into our solar system. Two, from armed rebellion--which is impossible, yet a far consideration--arising possibly from any of the habited planets. In such cases we have simply got to “activate” our force fields at the switch of few levers…..Thereafter, whoever or whatever crosses those magnetic laser force fields shall fizzle out and get burnt to ashes above 20,000 degrees centigrade.” “Whew, we never considered that!” “No, my dears. It is not necessary to consider such an impossible and improbable occurrence. Yet earth command does share responsibilities, you know.” “Conversely it is understood that interstellar virus and bacteria are therefore completely annihilated, immediately upon contact with magnetic laser fields?” “Yes my dear. Again, you may like to consider other infectious virus and bacteria-- growing and multiplying upon Jupiter and seemingly harmless there; perhaps the same strain can become one hundred percent fatal to humans living upon Mars.” “But…..The interplanetary vacations, voyages, transfers and the like?” "Radio-light frequencies permit only authorized space ships to pass through those force fields! Again.....You are aware in all instances during interplanetary voyages—one must experience compression and de-compression chamber activities with each interplanetary visit or voyage?”

They were gathered in the professor’s guest chambers. Earth, Forward space research administration allocated one large room to each of them though for the present they preferred to relax in a guest lounge room. “Join me for dinner at the cafeteria. My personal dining chambers are still drying up from the new paint they applied yesterday.” The professor invited them formally. He walked out the door to his own living room located few dozen feet away. * Earth croissants, mars cabbage and fruits from Venus space city granaries formed part of their six course dinner and were finished with hearty slurps of yogurt processed upon Pluto soils. Fruits, vegetables, food grains and other delicacies were constantly transported from one planet to another at regular intervals and the human populace at inter-planetary level were never in dearth of food at any time. “Remember, the most appropriate time for fermenting yogurt is an hour before Pluto’s second moon rise! The taste lingers in your mouth for days on end and is sweet.” The professor took a dig at culinary menu. His companions greeted the latest remark with satisfied smiles. They were content for the time being. A quick glance across the cafeteria revealed a limited number of ‘guests’ sharing dinner time. They seemed absorbed in their own discussions. “Shall we continue?” “…..Therefore we will now wind up our primary topic and commence upon the collapsing zero gravity syndromes upon Pluto cities. Very well then:- You both must be totally aware of the sole means of human survival upon the outer planetary cities excluding earth. Care may be taken herein for I mean human survival and not sustenance. For the latter we require air, oxygen- and plenty of it mixed in air, water, food and clothing, medicines, etc. However, for the former term we require zero-gravity machines in all aspects of our lives. You see…..We humans are only accustomed to the gravitational attraction of earth. Our physical bodies are not accustomed to natural and gravitational influences of moon, mars or the other planets. Our walking, sitting and other postures shall be adversely affected by the pull of other planets—inside space cities which we have built upon those planets. Therefore, what do we do? What should be the alternative? Let me explain. We use zero-gravity machines which are applicable to cars and other transport vehicles. We even provide specific gravity-related shoes to all citizens habitating a planet! We go to the extent of ‘flooring’ their houses and homes—applying two feet thick platinum boxes underneath the floors of all houses. These boxes contain zero-gravity maintaining machines and equipment so that people may walk barefoot in privacy of their own houses. Our zero-gravity machines are auto correctable and immediately adjust their mechanisms to variant gravitational pulls upon different planets; hence our successful inter-planetary and
